Oxbow Herald is your one stop community for getting your work published, and raising reputation online. If you are looking for a way to show case your writing portfolio or just want to improve your skills, Oxbow is the perfectly place to do so. We currently have positions open for writers, copy editors, and experts on various topics that you can choose from.
We have just passed prelaunch version and are currently in Beta version. This means we are open to the public, although we are accepting only a handful of writers at the moment. Here are a few benefits to signing up in our writing program:
Here at Oxbow Herald, we strive for quality content in order to keep our visitors happy and entertained. You are welcome to write a short story, guest post on our blog, or an article revolving a particular niche. Before you register with us, make sure you are familiar with our writing guidelines below.
1. Any content you write should be 350 words and up. It is best to go with 400 words if you want your article to be featured on the front page of our website.
2. It is okay to leave a backlink in the Authors Resource area. However, no affiliate links are accepted.
3. All content must be unique. It is not advised to use any type of writing software such as spinners. Each article or post is checked to see if it passes Copyscape.
You can get paid from performance based articles or upfront assignments. You can earn anywhere from $3-$8 per 1,000 views on any particular article or post. If you would like to get paid from upfront assignments, you will need to claim the assignment and it will be available for 3 days. We send payments out once a month, anytime from the 1st of the month to the 10th of the month.
Make sure you have the correct Paypal address. You can always update this information as well.
Currently, our up front payment system has not been implemented yet but we will be adding it during the next release. For upfront payments, you will earn anywhere from $2-$8, depending on the quality of your article and the word count.
If you write for performance based articles, you can earn anywhere from $3 to $8 per 1,000 views.
Each week, many individuals email us inquiring about the writing program we have. It is fairly easy to get started here. There are no long forms to fill out, nor do you have to wait more than 24 hours to start writing. All you have to do is click on the “Register” form, fill out your details and you are all set. Keep in mind that we are not sending out e-mail confirmations which include your username and password. This is for security reasons. After Beta version, once we launch our writers program – you will be able to sign up and receive an e-mail notice regarding your details.
Every article submitted in our registered writing program allows users to submit articles to our website and for every article you submit, you have full rights. This means, you can update and your article at any time, or remove it if you would like. Since we are in BETA version, we will be adding an update feature shortly in order for are members to be able to tweak, change, or delete any article submitted.
No, the only other people who are allowed to edit your articles is the site staff and yourself for an article. We usually edit the article during the publishing process and will sometimes add pictures or correct your article if we see any misspelling. However, it should be up to the writer to check everything before submitting any articles.
Of course, you are allowed to add any backlinks in your articles by using the special author box below each post. You are also allowed to place up to 5 links within the body of your article. Each link is doFollow, so it is a great way to boost your other sites. However, the only sites we do not allow are affiliate links.
