marriageproblems

Money problems are always part of a married life. Couples argue over different things, and one of which is related to their finances. In some cases, these couples are able to manage their differences, but for some, it’s a cause for further problems. In order to avoid the latter, you must understand the reasons why married couples encounter such issues.

1. If a couple does not discuss money issues before marriage they will not know if they have the same short term and long term financial goals. Do not over spend on a wedding.

2. Married couples should take some time to make a list of the long term financial goal and write down how they are going to achieve this goal. Discuss homes in the future, children, illness, insurance, and savings and investments.

3. There is no budget. You need to budget the money you have coming in and going out each month in order to keep from going into debt. Live on your budget and do not live by credit cards. You do not need multiple cards to increase your credit rating. Keep it limited to only two cards. Do not get store cards.

4. Do not buy anything outside of your budget. Even if you can justify the item, you cannot afford it if it is not within the budget. Pay all the monthly bills first and whatever is left over goes for gas, food, and savings.

5. Buying too many groceries and then letting them go to waste. Buy only what you are going to use and eat at home. Eating out during lunch or dinners each day will add up. Make a meal plan, buy the ingredients on the list, and eat at home. Use a few off brands and use coupons whenever you can find them for the product you like.

As a recommendation, it’s good that the couple should educate themselves about personal finances including topics like bad consolidation debt remortgage, debt settlement plan and others. This will help them understand their financial condition as couples which may lead to more mature way of dealing with their finances.
