Back in school I remember taking a semester of wood shop and an additional semester of metal shop. Taking the time to learn about the different tools and pieces of equipment that had to be respected and safely operated I discovered that band saws used sanding belts to cut through wood. The abrasives that moved quickly on a continuous loop made it easy to shape the pieces of wood I worked with into intricate shapes and designs. Once I finished up on the saw I would walk my project over to a sander and smooth off the rough edges. In metal shop the sanding and grinding tools were replaced with polishing machines that used and clean up the edges of my work or deliver a shine to the finished product by polishing it. Relying on and abrasive Winnipeg, Toronto and Ottawa metal and woodworking professionals incorporate the same types of wheels that I would use to make their designs fit together perfectly.
Industrial grade abrasive products allow machinists to work continuously on manufacturing products that need to have the tailings removed after drilling or cutting of the wood or metal has taken place. The blade of a band saw is actually a long piece of sand paper that rotates at such a rapid speed that it can slice through anything. That is the reason that my shop teacher took such great care to teach each student the rules of safety when using the equipment. Although the work of machining and milling products and components for professional use is far different than any of the items that I made in class the abrasives used by the equipment and the tools themselves are the same. When restocking the supplies that have been worn down with replacement parts a manager or foreman can find the all of abrasives that are needed for their shop by ordering from dealers that supply the abrasive to Toronto, Ottawa and Winnipeg manufacturing facilities.
