If you’re a blogger who sometimes runs out of blog topics to write about, it would be advantageous to have a checklist of things as a reminder as to what sort of things you can blog about. Of course, that you should blog about something you know about is a given. Pretending to have knowledge of something when the opposite is true can lead to embarrassment. If you wish to be informative about a certain topic on which you have no expertise, make sure that you do your research first before posting. Strong and helpful posts allow you to advertise your blog in various forums, social networking sites, etc.

You must also blog about topics that you yourself find interesting. If you don’t really like the topic you write about, your post will reflect that. It is much more pleasant anyway to write about something that you wouldn’t mind discussing at length with potential comment givers. If you’re blogging anyway, you should care about what you write about.

If you want to post about delicate blog topics such as politics and religion, expect opposing views and keep a thick skin. Stand by your views and be ready for debates. Equip yourself with arguments that will keep the exchanges going.

When afflicted with a sort of writer’s block, but pressured to publish a post for some reason, you will certainly find an existing list of possible topics useful. Hopefully, being reminded of topics you have been meaning to write about will spark a writing frenzy. Take advantage of days when ideas are overflowing. List them down in notebooks or Word files.

Blogging should be an enjoyable activity, be it a mere hobby or a means to generate income. In any case, a good blog should bring pleasure to the publisher and the reader alike.
