Not only do copper fire pits cost money but they require a decent amount of work to keep them in good condition. On the other hand, in-ground bonfire pits only require that you dig a hole in the ground, and almost no upkeep is required for their continued usage. Why then is it that people still buy copper fire pits instead of digging a hole in the ground? There must be some explanation for this.

If you have small children then you may find this initial reason very compelling; copper fire pits are safer than in-ground bonfires. A typical copper fire pit sits on a stand; that is to say that it does not touch the ground. Flames coming off the edge of the fire pit are less likely to come in contact with other objects on the ground which may light on fire. In contrast to this, flammable objects around a bonfire pit become a fire hazard themselves.

Copper fire pits can be put anywhere you feel like. A hole must be dug into the ground to create a bonfire pit. This obviously means that it cannot be placed on your patio; good luck digging through bricks if that is what your patio is made of. The implication of this is that your bonfire pit may have to be located far away from the fixtures and furniture that is already set up on your patio; it would be a hassle if you had to relocate all of the infrastructure that you currently enjoy to a new location. This is also an advantage that the copper fire pit has over the natural gas patio heater; it must be located near a gas line.

Hopefully this article has given you some insight into why some individuals prefer copper fire pits over competing options.
