Understanding the Differences Between an MP5 Player and Other Players
People who are not current with the advances in technology may hear terms such as MP5 player or MP6 player and assume they are basically the same thing. However, each different number represents a new and evolved technology in the media players.
The MP3 Player
This is a digital player that many people are familiar with. It uses lossy data compressing technology which essential allows for the smallest file size while still allowing for a true sound experience.
The MP4 Player
This player is the next generation in the evolution of the MPEG technology. This mp4 format gives users the ability to store a library of pictures and similar data on their player.
The MP5 and MP6 Players
Popular media claims that this label is one used by manufacturers in China in order to help differentiate multimedia devices from China. These designations have nothing to do with newer technology or the evolution of other forms of players.
These devices will have at least the technology found in MP3 MP4 players, but other features can vary. The MP5 and MP6 players have the same technology found in an MP4 digital player when it comes to the decoding of multiple video formats with the absence of transcoding.
The decoding relies on using the least amount of data in order to offer the best version and ultimately the creation of smaller files. The files are not small, but the technology being used allows them to be downloaded while preserving excellent quality in the process.
The Future
Many MP5 players offer new features such as additional flash memory, color displays for sharper images, FM radio tuners, stop watches, audio recording capabilities and even game apps. MP6 players typically have all of the features mentioned as well as internet connectivity.
