Most people tend to keep their cars in their garage.  However, garage storage is good for many additional things as well.  For example, you can also store your motorcycle or bicycle in your garage.  Not only will keeping these items out of the elements prolong their life, it will also keep them safe from any would be thieves.  You do need to store them properly though so that they do not get scratched or dented.  The are several ways to do this.

One nifty garage bicycle storage idea is to use a hoist.  This can be nothing more than a simple pulley system.  All you will have to do is hang your bike and then pull it up to the desired height.  A hoist can be a good idea because it protects the bike from surface moisture.  In addition, it will not be subjected to accidental bumps which could scratch or dent the paint.  When you need it, the bike can simply be let down and it will be immediately ready to ride.

Another idea is to use bicycle hooks.  These are inexpensive and can be attached to either the ceiling or the wall and then you suspend the bike by its tires.  These hooks are extensively tested so you can rest assured that they can support the weight of your bike.  They are also available in two different designs.  One is a two piece hook, while the other will flip out to support the bike.

You can also use a bike stand.  These will support both tires so the bike remains in a stationary position when not in use.  These have the advantage of being on the ground and allow easy access to your bike when you are ready to ride.  On the other hand, they can take up some significant floor space.

One final option is to use a bike rack.  This can be a good idea when you have more than one bike you need to store at a time.  These can also be mounted on the wall in order to get the bike out of the way of other items on the garage floor.
