Everyone who lives in a civilized country knows about Honda cars. Right next to Toyota, they are the most popular car brand around the world. Honda is headquartered in Japan and has a long history of making very well designed cars. Honda is actually the sixth largest auto manufacturer in the world. It produces over fourteen million combustion engines a year. They are the most known for cars but Honda also produces motorcycles, scooters, robots, jets, ATVs, boats, generators, lawn and garden equipment and bikes. It seems as if there is nothing Honda can’t do!

1946 was the year in which Soichiro Honda created the Honda Technical Research Institute in Japan. It was created to build motorbike engines. Just over ten years later the first United States dealership opened for Honda cars in Los Angeles.

The first auto to come off the assembly line was a mini pickup truck and the first car was a S500 Honda sports car.

Over the years Honda has made fabulous autos that are collector’s items and just very popular used Honda cars. Here is a run down on all the products released over the years by Honda. In 1963 the first autos were driven off the assembly line. 1966 saw the sale and export of the Honda S800.

In 1972 the very popular Honda Civic was released. This has to be the most popular Honda in existence. It’s hard to imagine that this model has been around for over three decades.

In 1978 the Honda Prelude was released. It is still a very popular used car with the high school and college crowd.

In 1986 Honda decided to create a new brand for the luxury auto market and Acura was born.

In 1992 the Honda worldwide auto production was twenty million units.

In just a few years later in 1995 world production reached 30 million.
