Two years ago I was overweight by about 10 pounds. I struggled to motivate myself to diet effectively and found that physical exercise was also something I struggled to get enthusiastic about. I then heard about meal replacement shakes for weight loss and so decided to see whether these would work for me or not. For those that don’t know, meal replacement shakes for weight loss are designed to replace two of your daily meals. By regimenting your daily calorie intake this way, it is possible to slowly lose weight over a period of a month.
I was also smoking heavily at the time and generally was not in good shape. As well as wanting to lose weight, I also needed to give up smoking – I actually found quitting far easier than a diet and was successful by using stop smoking hypnosis. Once I quit the cigarettes though, I started to snack regularly meaning my weight problem continued.
Meal replacement shakes for weight loss really helped me control this though. I had one for breakfast and one for lunch. Each meal replacement shake contained less than two hundred and fifty calories. I then ate healthy in the evening – but the great thing was I had a good idea of my daily intake and was managing to reduce each day’s daily average by around five hundred calories.
If you can reduce your daily calories by at least five hundred then you should be on target for losing at least three pounds a week. That’s what I managed to do and ended up shedding the ten pounds in just over a month.
Meal replacement shakes by their nature don’t taste fantastic unless you go for an off the shelf flavour – I actually preferred to make my own using fruit, milk, and crushed ice. To get a better taste I used really tasty fruits such as berries and strawberries.
Meal replacement shakes for weight loss did work for me, but you do need to be able to motivate yourself to continue with the program. Try it for yourself and see if it works for you.
