Taking care of our health is perhaps one of the most important things in life. Aside from staying away from stress, we should also learn how to eat healthy and learn how to stick with our exercise routines. Without these two, we will be vulnerable to terrible health problems such as cancer, obesity, heart failures, and diabetes.

While there are several ways to exercise today thanks to modern exercise equipments and accessories, choosing diets that work is a little challenging. Sure there are several diet programs to choose form, but how do you know if one is effective? There have been news about people developing allergic reactions to certain diet plans, some even getting ugly side effects. So before you believe a particular diet program, find out if it can be trusted.

The GM Diet

One of the most popular and most effective diet plans of all time is the GM diet, or the General Motors diet. Initially intended for the employees of the American company General Motors, the GM diet has been practiced by thousands of people all over the world, male and female alike.

The GM diet is an old eating habit, which aims to shed at least 10 pounds off your original weight after one week. The GM diet runs for seven straight days, and you will be asked to eat nothing else aside from fruits and vegetables. While on the GM diet, you will be asked to do two things: abstain from alcohol and up your water intake to at least 10 glasses everyday.

Regular Exercise

But then again dieting alone is not enough, because you also need to keep your heart as well as your muscles and bones in perfect condition. And the only way to do that is to engage in regular exercise. Exercise need not be sophisticated or expensive, activities as simple as walking and riding the bike is already a good way to start.
