I’ve been marketing products on the internet for 3 years now. I’ve gone through a number of processes to become successful. The golden rule is play to the best return on investment. You’ll need to spend money to make money.
I first started with drop shipping. You can find legitimate companies that will ship out products to your customers. So, you advertise a product, get an order for say a $40 item, then you place the order at your cost (hopefully much less) and they ship to your customer. Pretty sweet deal, but you’ll need a site with a shopping cart so your customers can place orders. I made decent money doing this, but I’m trifling lazy and didn’t like all the work involved, ie. placing orders, dealing with returns, etc. So I searched for an alternative.
The alternative still requires some work, but I think it’s fun. There are affiliate marketing networks that handle numerous clients who products to sell or are looking for sales leads. Some of these clients will pay $30-40 dollars per lead! All you have to do is convince people to fill out a form! One of my favorite networks is Never Blue Ads. They have some great offers and payout consistently. You’ll need a domain name and website. The simplest way to go is buy a fairly general domain name at Name Cheap. They are the least expensive and offer free who is guard. Who is guard prevents someone from getting your contact information from your domain name registration information. For hosting, I prefer Hostgator. They’re one of the most popular, easiest to use hosting services.
Like I said, internet marketing takes some work, but it can be a lot of fun, especially when commission checks start rolling in. So, the next step is to write articles about the products/services you’re promoting, inserting your affiliate links. Simple!
Now we need to get traffic to those pages. I have a lot of luck with pay per click advertising. My favorite place to do that is 7Search. This is what’s called a second tier search engine. They provide great training on how to get started and getting traffic to your pages/articles. And they’re inexpensive.
