Straight Talk has one of the lowest priced unlimited plans in the business.  Its Unlimited plan costs only $45 and gives customers unlimited talk, text, and web.  This is an interesting plan to a lot of people and entices new customers to sign up for Straight Talk every day.  It’s a pretty good plan if you want unlimited talk.  The other straight talk plan is only $30 per month for 1,000 minutes (maybe an even better value than the unlimited).

One of the phones that works with the unlimited plan is the 3G Nokia 6790 phone.  It is a smart phone that lets you check multiple email accounts, surf the Internet, listen to music on the mp3 player, download ringtones, take pictures with a 2 megapixel camera, and find where you need to go with the voice-guided navigation.  All of these things are nice offerings in a prepaid cell phone, which is part of the reason that Straight Talk has a popular smart phone right now.  Of course, there are other companies offering smartphones with prepaid plans like Metro PCS and Virgin Mobile, both of which are worth looking into. And the Nokia E71 prepaid 3G phone is worth looking at to.

The Nokia 6790 is a nice smart phone, but is it something akin to a prepaid iPhone?  Probably not.  The comparison is a little off because the phones are so different.  The 6790 is a slider-phone that slides open to reveal a full keyboard, while the iPhone has a world class touchscreen and definitely doesn’t move or anything like that.  It has a simple one button interface and a ton of options available through the touchscreen.  Nokia 6790 is a fun phone for a prepaid plan, however, and if surfing the web unlimited is something that interests you, this phone could be an option for you.  Another phone is the Nokia E71 (that Straight Talk just released).  It’s a good phone that has a more professional style than the 6790.
