Millions of Americans make poor food choices every day. If you are one of the people who struggle to eat healthy, then there is still time to improve your diet. It is never too late to eat better. If we slowly start making better choices, eventually our health will greatly improve.
The easiest thing to do is replace your worst food choices with healthier alternatives. For example, I used to consume an alarming amount of soda. I couldn’t go more than a few hours without having one. I realized I needed to change, mostly because I was always bloated and sluggish. I made a rule that I was going to drink a sparkling water every day before every thinking about a soda. This way the carbonation of the sparkling water would trick my body into thinking it had a soda. I know strictly drink sparkling water and completely got rid of my bad soda habit. I think most people could do the same thing and see similar results.
I also suffer from a number of different food allergies. I have a gluten, peanut, and casein allergy. It is very hard to eat out for me. I have found that cooking at home for almost all my meals is the easiest way for me to eat healthy. If you find yourself fighting to avoid the fast food restaurants every time you drive by one, then it would be wise to plan your meals ahead of time. If you know you have a delicious healthy meal waiting for you at home, you are way less likely to splurge on unhealthy food. And cook healthy food does not mean that it won’t taste good. Once you get in the habit of cooking these meals, your tastes will change and you will find this food that you likely would not have even touched before to be the best-tasting stuff around. Good luck in your quest to get healthy; the path is not as rough as you might think.
