monogram

Many people choose to give monogrammed baby gifts now, as it sets the gift apart from the “ordinary”, and often turns it into a keepsake.

Even baby sleeping bags can be monogrammed, and these make fantastic gifts.

A baby sleeping bag is a bit different from what many people think of when the term “sleeping bag” is mentioned. It has nothing to do with camping, although it would also be perfect if the new parents were to try camping with a young baby.

It does have one very important factor in common with your camping sleeping bag, which is the TOG rating. This is the rating which needs to be matched to the environment and weather conditions.

The TOG rating helps you to ensure your baby will be snug and warm, getting neither too hot nor too cold. Match this rating to the time of year, and the weather experienced in your area, or the area to which you intend travelling with your baby.

Gone are the days when parents needed to wrap baby in multiple baby blankets, which were always coming unwrapped. It is also no longer required that you can not see of feel the baby in order to keep it warm.

Baby sleeping bags provide the most comfortable sleeping arrangement for your baby, whether it is in the pram, the cot, a portable “camping cot” or even in your arms. Some of the baby sleep sacks (as they are also known) have a zipper. This makes it easier to place the baby into the sleep bag, and I strictly a matter of personal preference. There are no other benefits or drawbacks to having a zipper.

Baby items which are monogrammed, with any combination of name, initials and date of birth, just have a special quality about them. Almost any baby gift may be monogrammed, including clothing, burp cloths, and even bottles.

A monogrammed gift often gets retained as a keepsake, or memento, long after the baby has outgrown the item, or the need for the item. Having any baby gifts you give monogrammed is definitely something you should consider doing.
