When I was a teenager I got interested in the world of photography. While most people get interested in it via the mode of taking pictures, my interest was primarily in the backroom. We had an industrial arts class in school that taught us all the fine points of photographic development. I loved it…and from there I branched out into other areas of photography.
I eventually worked my way into the world of camera repair. I took a course and at one point worked for Pentax cameras. The cameras were sure different back then. High tech electronic cameras like the D7000 Nikon and the Nikon D3100 had not yet even been thought of…the electronics just weren’t there.
I remember the first time I went into a camera store to get a “real camera”. Oh yeah, I had a Kodak and Polariod, but this was a “real camera” purchase. I ended up getting a GAF 17. It was a 17 because of the F1.7 lens (I could not afford the F1.4 version. It served me well…but I always had my eye on the Nikon. It was the professional’s camera of choice, and I certainly wanted to get the best camera out there.
So, as you can tell, I have been around photography for most of my life. With a passion such as this it is only natural that I would create a blog about cameras. We hope that you will take a look at it one day. I try to give honest camera appraisals so that you can make an accurate choice on the best camera for your needs. If you have any suggestions they are more than welcome. Whether on making some suggestions on cameras to review, or suggestions on where we can pick up cameras at great prices, they all are welcome. See you there!
