The nature of people is the same; it’s their habits that are different. (Confucius)

The nature of people is sinful, at least, that’s what the Bible says and I quite agree with that. Right from the very birth we usually try to do some wicked things, instead of doing some good. That’s why children and kids do not listen to their parents and make the run – around. With age we tend to hide our flaws and bad temper with appropriate manners, though we may become even more wicked inside. Children don’t hide anything and if they feel sad or angry – they lay it all on the table. They simply cannot hide their feelings as grownups do. Anyway, we are all the same, from the same blood, flesh and bones.

However, according to Confucius quote, our habits differ in numerous ways. Some people might be taking a nap till the late afternoon, while others cannot help getting up at 6 am. There are meticulous people who can easily notice a hair on your suit, while others may be living in a garbage like house without any chagrin. We might as well find a few good habits in our lives, but this time we are touching upon the habits that do more harm than good. What about watching TV till late at night or biting your nails? What about playing warcraft PC games till your eyes go red or watching some nasty internet websites, when your spouse is away. These are just few that come to my mind, but I’m sure that you will have much more, if you dig deep enough. Still, there is some light in the tunnel – you can always try to kick off your flaw, because, according to one quote: “everything is possible to those who believe”. You just have to believe and be persistent enough, and the change might be coming your way.

Life is a verb, not a noun. (Ch. P. Gillman)

There are many inspiring and motivating life quotes, but sometimes you just have to find the ones that work for you. This quote, somehow, caught my attention. Here is why…
Have you ever seen a bird that doesn’t move at all? I have seen it. You know how it’s called? It’s called a dead bird. There is no life in it, it’s just the body. Strange as it may sound, our lives can resemble that dead bird. We might think that we “live” the “good” life, but if we do what we hate doing, live with our spouse we hate, live in a country we wish to leave and still do nothing about all of this – we might as well jump on in a coffin and close the lid on. At least nobody will get hurt from our so called “life”.

This life quote by Gillman means that you have to act and do something, even if it’s wrong. It’s far better if you try and fail, than stay aside and do nothing. Are you prepared to change something? Or are you willing to just spend another meaningless day and be happy you did not have to change anything, because you are simply used to it? It’s easier to live in “status quo”, because you don’t have to make tough decisions and take responsibility. It might be easier to sit in the same chair, eat the same food, and watch the same TV show in the evening, instead of doing some physical exercise, going on a diet, learning a new language, starting a new business or trying anything new. It’s the same with the toothache – you might sit and wait until the pain becomes unbearable and the tooth decays, or you may react soon enough and have a few visits to the dentist. They might not be very pleasant, but the results will surely outweigh all the pain you will have to endure.
Be brave and take courage – these are the words taken from a Christian song. It takes more than just a wish to make a change, but everything starts from a simple thought or idea. You take the first step and the second one will be much easier. Just start from something and don’t postpone it for another day or week.

Sometimes it’s enough to read a few inspirational quotes about life and you will start seeing a change – at least in your mind.
