I have been using an electric wheelchair that my son and daughter gifted me jointly last Christmas and it had completely changed my life as well as that of my husband. I have been using a wheelchair for the last five years and my husband has been pushing me but last year he started tiring from pushing me about and he started to get winded and tired very quickly. I cannot propel myself on a manual wheelchair because I have arthritis that makes it very painful in my hand and wrists to exert that kind of pressure on the wheels of a wheelchair. My children were not sure how well I would take to a power wheelchair but they decided to go ahead and buy me one anyway as a Christmas gift. They found a shop that would sell electric wheelchairs and other accessories to them and they bought me a electric wheelchair called a Pronto.

It instantly changed my life as well as that of my husband for the better as now we could go to the park. My husband did not have to push me and I could propel myself there and back without and any pain or discomfort. The only problem that remained was that I still could not access the first floor of our house because of the stairs. My lovely children took care of this as well on my birthday as they went out looking for electric wheelchair lifts without my knowing about it. They then took me out on a day trip and had the electric wheelchair lift installed in the house while I was away as a surprise for me.

I love the lift that they gave me because now I can use the first floor of our house again with ease. This is something that I have not been able to do in five years and it is so great to have an extra floor and two more bedrooms that we can use again. My husband can also use the electric wheelchair lift just by standing on it and we are both very happy with the gift that our children gave us.
