If you are not going to be building the ultimate body at the gym for whatever reason then I assume you will be working out from home, that’s fine as that is exactly how I started but the number one important thing you must take with you is you need to buy quality equipment, I cant stress this enough, the amount of times I have had shoddy equipment fall apart on me or it takes too long between sets to change over weights or equipment that I might as well have not bothered doing the exercise in the first place.
I started out at home and although I was broke I decided to get the best equipment I could get my hands on and I got it a piece at a time, I started out buying second hand equipment because I believed that if I brought from a brand name I could trust then it wouldn’t matter that it was second hand, The best places to buy second hand gym equipment from believe it or not is gyms, wait until they upgrade their equipment then ask them if they want to sell their old stuff. I always buy golds gym weights if I can as I find they are supreme quality and they have to be as their brand name is known worldwide.
Don’t forget the little things when setting up your gym such as mirrors and weight lifting gloves. The weights you buy should ideally be made from cast iron and have spin lock or grip lock collars for quick removal, they should be a well known brand such as golds gym, Weider etc and then you can have piece of mind you have brought quality material. Mix these weights with a good training regime and a good diet along with the best protein powder and you cant fail but hit your goals.
