Today I have decided to hold a writing contest for our current members and even newer members. Let me take a step back first, and tell everyone a little about Oxbow Herald. We have been running for only two months, and are finally in BETA version which means anyone is allowed to come join our writing program. Our program allows writers to make guest posts, submit articles, and even do guest blogging. Our members will be paid via our writing program which can be read about in the FAQ section of our site.

The contest is open to three winners and for every article you write, you are awarded points. For the contest, we are accepting tutorial or how to articles. Depending on the amount of points you have, you can win anything from $15 (Amazon Gift Card) to up to $50 in cash.

1^st Place Winner – $50 in Cash

2^nd Place Winner – $30 Amazon Gift Card

3^rd Place Winner – $15 Amazon Gift Card

Please submit TUTORIAL and HOW TO articles only as this is the theme for this month.

Winners will be announced on April 8^th, 2011.

Here is our point system so you know exactly how we calculate the winners:

1 Point – 300 words
2 Point – 500+ Words
5 Points – 800+ Words
6 Points – 1000+ Words

Contest Rules:

Here at Oxbow Herald, we strive for quality content in order to keep our visitors happy and entertained. You are welcome to write a short story, guest post on our blog, or an article revolving a particular niche. Before you register with us, make sure you are familiar with our writing guidelines below.

1.       Any content you write for contests should be 300 words and up.

2.       It is okay to leave a backlink in the Authors Resource area. However, no affiliate links are accepted.

3.       All content must be unique. It is not advised to use any type of writing software such as spinners. Each article or post is checked to see if it passes Copyscape.
